Our Story

WE CREATE A SPACE WHERE WOMEN CAN CONNECT IN LOVE, FELLOWSHIP, AND HOPE THROUGH THE BONDS OF CHRIST, OUR FIRST LOVE.

Back in 2011, a group of friends realized there was a gap in service for adults in the Church. After college and graduate studies, there were no more retreats, no more conventions.

There wasn't a place where Orthodox women could step away from their daily lives and responsibilities and connect with God and each other.

Orthodox women needed spiritual nourishment and a safe place to discuss things that were on their minds.

These friends had no special qualifications or experience, no tools or practice. They came with a simple desire to bring women together in Christ. They offered Him their five loaves and two fish and asked for His blessing.

Just 22 girls attended Her First Love Retreat that year, and they immediately felt how special this community would grow to be.

Now, nine years and six retreats later, the underlying mission is the same: to give Orthodox women a place to gather and share their thoughts and fears, desires and dreams, with God and with each other, through prayer and spiritual learning.
